Combining super-compressor diver style with hidden-lugs case design, the new release of Vortex is everything that Phoibos symbolizes – creative ingenuity, high quality, multi-functionality and expression of personality. Boasting an uncompromisingly modern look and immediately recognizable design, Vortex reinterprets aesthetics of tool-oriented diver watch by a vibrant and sporty flair continuing the Phoibos’s horological journey into the unexpected.
One of the intriguing details on Vortex is the distinctive watch case featuring a lug-free round silhouette. Crafted from a single block of 316L stainless steel, the unique shape of the Vortex was inspired by the eye of storm. Measuring 43mm in diameter and 13mm in height, the case delivers a heavy-duty and bold look by a fixed bezel in circular satin-brushed steel and twill grooves engraved around the case side. Being a super compressor-inspired design, the case features a twin-crown setup：one for time setting and winding the movement, the other for rotating the inner dive bezel. The different appearance of the two crowns is inspired by the architectural style of the iconic blue domed churches in Santorini.
Under the sapphire crystal with 6 layers of AR coating, the dial showcases a three-dimensional layered approach. Starting from the outer periphery, a bidirectional rotating bezel comes on top with dive time markings and the first 20 minutes highlighted by a white-blocked scale. Moving inwards, sitting a step below are the applied lume filled hour indices with silver frames. All the striking indices are applied on an outer minute ring with circular embossed decoration giving further depth to the dial. Finally, the bottom layer is a nicely recessed grainy dial in the same color with the inner bezel. On the bottom dial，hours and minutes are skeletonized in arrow style pairing a slender pointed seconds hand in an orange accent.
Powering this new model is the Swiss made Sellita caliber SW200-1, an automatic movement that operates at 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of around 38 hours. It is also regulated to ensure the accuracy of +/-12 sec/day at dial up/down position. In addition, this watch is equipped with an anti-magnetic piece between the movement and the case back to make watch resistant to magnetic fields up to 20,000 A/m. Thanks to 200M water resistance and Grade-A Super-LumiNova, this watch would be reliable in water and in dark. The watch is fitted with a waterproof genuine leather strap and a black rubber strap specially designed for Phoibos.
