The Apollo collection stands as a testament to PHOIBOS’s relentless pursuit of novel design and metallurgical innovation. Building upon its predecessors, the new Apollo (Ref. PY041) elevates our commitment to craftsmanship, drawing profound inspiration from the vastness of universal exploration. For this latest release, PHOIBOS returns to the aerospace realm, rendering the Apollo in full titanium and introducing a striking camouflage aesthetic through an unconventional use of forged materials.
The entire architecture—from the case and bracelet to the bezel, crown, and buckle—is meticulously machined from aerospace-grade Titanium. This results in a timepiece that is significantly lighter than its stainless steel counterparts, offering an unparalleled "near-weightless" sensation on the wrist. To overcome titanium’s vulnerability to scuffs, we have applied HV1200 anti-scratch coating—an upgrade from the previous HV800—ensuring the watch retains its pristine finish through the rigors of daily wear and outdoor adventure.
The visual centerpiece of the new Apollo is our debut of the camouflage dial. Alongside the classic grainy-textured black and white editions, the collection features forged carbon fiber dials in three evocative camo patterns: Jungle Camo Green, Lava Flow Red, and Dark Matter Blue. These are not merely colors, but narratives of our universe—from the flourishing rainforests of Earth to the molten rivers of our planet’s crust and the enigmatic dark matter of the deep galaxy. Beyond its aesthetic allure, the carbon fiber construction provides exceptional stiffness, corrosion resistance, and structural longevity.
While these timepieces utilize camouflage, they are designed to be anything but hidden. The 41mm x 48mm titanium case features a high-grade brushed finish, preserving the iconic angular silhouette of the Apollo line while repositioning the crown to the 3 o’clock position for intuitive manipulation. Within its slender 12.5mm profile beats the Miyota 9015 caliber, a premium movement known for its slimness and unwavering precision. Protecting the dial is a flat sapphire crystal with multi-layer AR coating, revealing a handset inspired by celestial voyagers. The skeletonized hands glide like spacecraft over the carbon landscape, while their "rocket tail" counterweights are treated with Grade A Super-LumiNova BGW9 for a playful yet functional glow in the dark. This luminosity extends to the DLC-treated titanium bezel insert and the thickly printed indices, ensuring the dial remains a beacon in the abyss.
With a 30 ATM (300m) water resistance rating, the Apollo is a formidable companion for professional saturation diving and deep-sea exploration. By fusing aerospace-grade titanium, forged carbon fiber, and a high-beat Japanese caliber, the Apollo Ref. PY041 represents the pinnacle of PHOIBOS’s "tough-luxury" ethos. It is a tool for the boundary-pushers—a watch that doesn't just track time, but conquers the environment.
